Cameron Burnes is an Australian bassoonist and reed maker with over fifteen years of professional performance experience across Australia, Europe, Asia and North America. Currently serving as a full-time musician with the Royal Australian Navy Band, he has performed in a diverse range of ensembles and musical settings, developing a versatile and internationally informed approach to bassoon performance.

Alongside his performing career, he has dedicated considerable time to developing and refining his own distinctive style of bassoon reeds. Drawing on extensive performance experience, collaboration with professional musicians and ongoing experimentation, his reed-making philosophy emphasises responsiveness, tonal quality, stability and consistency.

His work as a performer, educator and reed maker reflects a commitment to precision, craftsmanship and continuous refinement. By combining practical experience as a professional bassoonist with a thoughtful and innovative approach to reed making, he aims to create reliable, responsive reeds that support musicians in achieving their individual musical goals.
